Investing in Venice

Jun22

Venice is perhaps one of the most recognized vacation destinations around the world. but is it worth looking at, in terms of real estate investing? Well, it depends. First of all, apartments around St. Mark's Square are worth, on average, $10 million. However, if you look in other parts of the city, you may well find some good deals.

One of such places is Dorsoduro, one of six Venice districts, located really not far from St. Mark's Square. Believe it or not, but $400,000 can actually buy you a comfy apartment here. In terms of tourist attraction the district really doesn't lack anything, with several major museums located there. What's more Dorsoduro is the centre of the city nightlife, with numerous bars, clubs and restaurants. As for rental income, in high season apartment rentals are approx. $2,000 - $4,000, depending on the location. So it's quite a lot of cash.
